Breguet, happens to be one of the oldest surviving watchmakers in the world. Their history is amazing. Credits belong to Abraham-Louis Breguet Naples Watch Replica who founded the Swiss manufacture in Paris in 1775. Abraham-Louis Breguet was an innovator and the tourbillon is just one of the results of his creative ideas. The only thing that change over time is that Breguet is now part of the The Swatch Group and been making timepieces produced in the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland since 1976. Here are the Top 5 from this amazing manufacture.
5. Classique 5140
Comes in 18 carat white gold, this classic wristwatch also sports a self-winding movement with seconds sub-dial. The tech is highly functional with balance spring and lever in silicon. It’s also water-resistant to 30 m and style-wise, it’s got a fine 40 mm case in both white and other gold versions. Technically there are four variants with major differences in hour markers, in roman and arabic style. However, there is consistency in the enamel dial and of course, the classic Breguet lugs. They look good in leather strap and passes the classic collection mark.
4. Tradition 7097
Talking about traditions, this is a cool men’s toy. It’s both fashionable and sporty yet it leans more on the complicated side. Think about the watch as the blend between class and mechanics, in the traditional style of Breguet. It sports 18 carat white gold and a self-winding movement. There is the signature retrograde small seconds at 10 o’clock which looks very cool. The off-centered silvered gold dial looks fantastic plus it’s engine-turned by hand. Coolness goes all the way to the sapphire case back and there is 2 versions of the watch, one with 18 carat rose gold and the one mentioned above.
3. Type XXII 3817
This one is Breguet’s answer to casual men’s watch IMO. It’s got the perfect blend between class and cool. The 42 mm steel case looks stunning plus it goes with a sapphire-crystal caseback showcasing its self-winding chronograph movement, Cal. 584Q/2. The watch cranks 48 hours of power reserve, perfect for a daily timer. Its slate grey dial is very readable complemented with luminescent Arabic numerals. It’s got all the useful features like a day/night indicator, 12-hour totalizer, and date. There is also small seconds and central minute totalizer.
2. Double Tourbillon 5347
The Double Tourbillon 5347 is a proper collectible. It’s got a fine taste – a Grande Complication wristwatch in 18 carat rose gold sporting 2 independent tourbillons affixed by a bridge to a centre plate that completes a rotation in 12 hours. Tech-wise, it’s simply superb. The guilloche silver dial looks classy with excellent display. The 44 mm case come in either rose gold or platinum in 4 main versions. The Double Tourbillon’s hand-wound Cal. 588 movement packs 50 hours of power reserve which is impressive for a double tourbillon.
1. Marine Équation Marchante 5887
This fantastic timepiece tells a story that centers on Breguet Marine’s heritage. The Marine Équation Marchante 5887 is as interesting as the Royal Louis, French Navy’s first ship in 1758 in terms of tech used and of course style. The blue dial looks calm but in itself looks more like a miniature sea-on-the-wrist. It’s packed with luxurious details like wave style guilloché dial and sharp harpoon style hands. Features include day and month indicators around the edge of the watch, a leap year indicator, a running solar hand with a nice little golden sun at the tip, and a power reserve indicator. Not to mention, this watch is a perpetual calendar so yeah, it easily tops our list.
